Why a Women Obtaining Wealth Chapter?
Chapters provide a forum for hosts to meet with their colleagues to establish a local network where face-to-face meetings, discussions, socializing and networking can occur. Chapters also provide an opportunity for individuals considering starting a business or curious about WOW to meet with an experienced host.

What's required to establish a Women Obtaining Wealth Chapter?
First, it is important to know that as a Chapter Host you will also be considered to be a "representative" of WOW. You must be at least a networker in your community. As such, you will be the point of contact in your community for individuals, organizations and businesses who have an interest in our organization.
You can live in a metro area like New York or London, or live in a rural area like southern Utah. There is no minimum number of members required to establish a local WOW Chapter, just someone who wants to host it. Even if you start out with 1 or 2 members, within a year or so, you'll likely have many more, given how quickly the organization is developing.
WOW corporate officers requires a 20% referral fee for any referrals sent to your chapter directly from us. There is a $200.00 yearly chapter fee.

What's required to be a WOW Chapter Host?
a. At least a networker in your community.
b. Able and willing to respond to email and voicemail messages within 3 business days.
c. Host at least 1 Pursue Your Passion Party each year.
As a local representative you may receive calls and email from new members, chapter members and the local community. Though not excessive by any means, it is important that you are able to respond in a timely manner.

What's expected of the WOW Chapter Host?
A. Quickly find and designate a cohost for your Chapter. This is very important.
B. To schedule, attend and facilitate each chapter meeting.
C. To be the contact person for the media, members and interested callers. You would respond via telephone, fax and/or email.
D. To be WOW's official representative, as Chapter Host.
E. To ensure that the Chapter ground rules are honored.
F. To coordinate any local WOW live events (Pursue Your Passion Parties) when offered in your area.
G. To send the corporate office quarterly reports.
H. To provide travel arrangements and lodging for the corporate officers to attend your first Pursue Your Passion Party.

What are the ground rules of the Chapters?
A. Keep the focus on becoming successful business owners, getting to know one another and serving clients. Stay away from politics, bureaucracy and administrative matters. Keep it simple and easy.
B. Cover your own expenses, but charge member dues and meeting fees to assist with your expenses. If there is a charge for a meeting room, cover the expenses yourselves. Better yet, find a place that's free. Refreshments are up to you, but you can always make it potluck.

Are there ground rules which apply to the Chapter Host in particular?
Yes, there is one ground rule and one cultural point.
Ground rule: Don't use your position as Chapter Host to market your services directly to members or guests. It's fine to let people know who you are, what you do and who you work with, but please don't cross the line into marketing, enrolling or pitching. Please market your services through WOW and push our membership packages so they can receive discounts off of their services - we ask that you have printed information available for non-WOW members who attend Chapter meetings. Just respond to requests. WOW will forward you a copy of our letters and information kits.
Cultural Point: Your primary focus should be to help the other members become even more successful, as a result of you being the Chapter Host. Look out for their best interests and do what's necessary to network with them, answer questions, be supportive and put them in touch with other members or other resources that may be offered by WOW.

What happens at Chapter meetings?
Each chapter will evolve into its own meeting style/agenda. Some suggested agenda items include:
A. Discussion from someone who struggled to get their business started and are now very successful.
B. Ask each person attending to share a bit about themselves, their passion and their goals on achieving their passion.
C. Social events.
D. Pick an interesting business-related topic and generate a discussion.
E. Allow business owners to purchase vendor tables to display their work/art/merchandise.
F. Always invite children and provide activities for them to stay occupied.

What meeting formats are recommended?
Whatever works for the chapter:
A. Monthly lunches at a restaurant.
B. 2-3 hour evening meetings in a member's home.
C. A weekly breakfast meeting.
D. Virtually if members are widely dispersed.
E. Seminars at your local library.
E. A combination of all meeting formats.

Can anyone attend the meetings?
Yes, anyone may attend. WOW recommends no limit to the number of times anyone may attend. If someone just comes to learn from the wisdom of the group and never joins WOW, that's fine.

As virtual as WOW is, we are also mindful that physical presence is important. Part of our job at WOW is to put people together in supportive, creative chapters worldwide. This allows women wanting to start their own business a place to go for resources.

There are many which include:
A. You will become known locally, as the official WOW representative. This will enhance your professional credibility.
B. You will be the first to receive media inquiries in your area, which can lead to coverage of you.
C. You'll develop strong relationships with other Chapter Hosts, thus deepening your community.
D. You'll develop strong professional relationships with other hosts in your region.
E. You'll grow - personally and professionally - out of the experience of being a Chapter Host.
F. Also, you'll find your own ways to benefit from being a Chapter Host. It's a big opportunity for the right person.
